No. If you can plug in a USB cable and install a normal Windows program, you can run BenchPro. Download, sign in, plug in an Android phone, and the test app installs and opens by itself. Most shops are printing their first report within 5 minutes.
Plug the iPhone in and BenchPro instantly reads its model, storage, battery and iCloud Activation Lock status. To test the hardware, scan the QR code on screen with the iPhone, open it in Safari and tap Open: BenchPro Tester runs as an App Clip, so nothing is installed and no Apple ID is needed (iOS 17 or newer). It guides you through each test and the results appear in BenchPro live. The gyroscope is checked by hand, because Apple doesn't let App Clips read it, and iPhones that can't open the App Clip can be tested with the built-in hand-test checklist.
